I will be 68 in a couple months. Yes, my age number is older; but I am not old. My urges are strong I believe; If I place my eyes on a beautiful younger woman I still get strong urges. Might I have the same physical lasting ability now as when I did when I was say in my 20's? Not a chance; I wish!
I might be old but you will not find me in a senior center. I do gym work and swim rather than play bingo or checkers all day. I try to stay fit which I believe it helps with my urges and stamina. This might not be a scientific opinion but it works for me. That is, I have a better opinion and view of myself. I have not given up, grown old mentally. I get out and live and yes, enjoy what's out there.
It is understandable that women do consider me an old grandpa type and would never think of dating me, not a chance. I mean really, why would the ones much young than I even think about it. That does not mean I do not find older women of all ages gorgeous, I do. I just see the such life and excitement in women younger than I.
My "Best Friend" is 35 and we have been "Friends" for 10 years now. I want to keep it that way. Maybe it is her that drives me. She picks out my clothes, my earring studs, my tattoos, and gets on me when I start getting the gut. Yes, people stare at us; they are just jealous I think; we usually laugh about it. Older men stare, their wives slap them on the head and give them "That" deadly look.
Bottom line; I will keep my urges and they are still strong.

I'm 84 and am surprised to still be getting positive responses from young females. You sound fit and well, so I would simply 'Allow' females to choose you if they wish. It is the female who does the choosing in my experience and quite rightly too!
