I was offered early voluntary retirement from my Executive position in 2003 which I very quickly accepted! I closed down all my bank accounts except for one, my building society accounts, gathered in all my pension funds and insurance policies, sold my house in Southend-on-Sea and ran for it before they could change their minds and not let me retire! I finally stopped running when I reached my paradise island in the Mediterranean where I bought myself a two double bedroomed bungalow which is actually built into a mountain - so I have two sides and a front, the back is part of the mountain. Very snug and safe. I return to England at least once a year (often more than once) to see my accountant and sort out any tax things. I then have a couple of weeks in an hotel on the coastline somewhere enjoying restaurants, films and theatres before returning home. Altogether an idyllic life which I thoroughly enjoy. In fact I'm so laid back that I once fell asleep running for a bus!!
I don't actually have an 'ideal match'. I'm quite happy with anyone of any colour or creed, employed or unemployed and living anywhere. The only things I do not like are bad language and a bad temper. Both those things leave me feeling most unsettled so I find them a definite no-no!
